With the development of society

With the development of society, division of shoes has become markers of human social class: the Roman Army officer grade level, that is, according to differentiate between high and low heels - the higher the heel, the lower the grade, so that one could see one rank in size, to determine their own way of dealing with him.

The Middle Ages, the rulers of Germany and the Netherlands had promulgated an extremely outrageous act, requiring all farmers in the fields to work, only wear shoes made of wood. Farmers at large, this is clearly an insult, in order to protest the rulers, farmers be wearing such a heavy wooden shoes and ran into the nobility of the park, will step down field crops them altogether. Up until the sixteenth century, the German farmers only wear one kind of shoe: first by a piece of leather cut the size of the feet, and then use the ribbon tied to the feet, wrap the whole foot. This humble there with shoes became popular exploitation and oppression of the poor peasants of the mark. From 1524 to 1525, the German peasant uprising broke out a large-scale farmers on the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the flag, the shoes embedded with such a pattern, it is declared to the people: farmers are not being cheap slave on floor Instead, the masters of society!

In European history, the powerful princes often sent envoys to the weak princes presented a pair of old shoes. If the weak princes willingly put on these shoes walk, which indicated he was willing to surrender, admit defeat, the powerful feudal lords do not need to re-launching a campaign to go crusade.

Barefoot man in ancient Europe, is considered very pariahs. Roman slaves were never allowed to wear shoes, and barefoot slaves are never social status.
